Question asked in Admissions
Can an Electronic Engineering Student specialize in Computer Science?
Asked by: ANUDEEP Answers: 1 Asked 4 years and 10 months ago Question Description
I am a student of Electrical Engineering. I would like to pursue my MS in Computer Science but I have little fear whether I would be able to coup those who have their base as CSE. Even though I am acquainted with three of four software subjects, I require a complete idea regarding the issue. Or should I continue my MS in my core branch itself if I’m comfortable with it?

Electrical Engineering student can surely specialize in Computer science. There is nothing to worry about if you have ability to work hard. Since both of these programs are technical, they have something in common. Whether you can coup those who have base as CSE or not depends on yourself. It all depends on how hard can you work and how confident you are. Remember, the most important part is - you have knowledge as Electrical Engineer and if you do Computer science you may be able merge two different ideas for new innovations. You said you have knowledge in three of four Computer science subjects then there isn’t anything to worry about. Finally, it will be better to leave your major only if you really aren’t interest in continuing it. I think both of these majors have equal prospects and it will be even easier for you to deal with your own major because you’ve already understood its pattern. Rate it!
