I want to know if international students studying at Community Colleges in USA can transfer to a university. Actually, I have seen many students who have transferred to a university from Community Colleges, but I have no idea how they did that. Can you please tell me the procedure on how to transfer Community College credits to the university? Your assistance will be highly appreciated.
It is definitely possible to transfer into a four-year university from a community college. Actually, most of the students choose to go to the community colleges at first, and transfer to a university after gaining considerable credits from them. Doing so saves a lot of money for them, which they can use to pay for comparatively expensive tuition fees of the universities.
Even though transferring from a community college to the university is possible, there is no guarantee that all the universities will accept you. Please check whether your college is accredited or not, because universities accept credits from only those universities which are accredited by respective boards. Similarly, all the credits you earn from a community college may not be transferred when you apply for admission. You may contact the admission department of the university you intend to attend to ask whether they accept credits from your community college, and how much credits can possibly be transferred.
I have found a video on Howcast, which explains the process of transferring from a community college to a university. The video is available here: http://www.howcast.com/videos/217927-How-To-Transfer-From-Community-College-To-a-FourYear-University. I hope my information and this video helps. Cheers!!
