Question Description
How much does it cost to live in Houston, Texas, USA as an international student? Can an international student afford the living costs in one of the largest cities of the USA?
Answers

It depends on how you plan to live. Obviously, hi-fi life costs you more. But, if you intend to work part-time and live off-campus sharing an apartment with your friends, living in Houston will not be unaffordable. Actually, Houston is considered cheaper in terms of livings costs for international students in comparison to other big cities. I'll give you some approximate figures for some monthly expenses that will incur while living in a shared-apartment.

Here are the approximate figures:

Apartment rent: $125-$175
Food and household expenses: $90-130
Electricity, gas, and other utilities: $50-$70
Other expenses: Depends on your spending habits and facilities you use

Please be aware that the expenses I mentioned above are just the approximate figures. Depending on the lifestyle you choose to live, your expenses may be a lot higher than the figures I've mentioned.
