Question Description
Do I need to learn any special language or anything like TOEFL or IELTS to study in Finland? Do Finnish universities teach in English language? Do I have to give any language tests like TOEFL or IELTS?
Answer

In Finland, very few universities offer limited programs in English language. To join such programs taught in English, students must prove their proficiency in English language through tests like TOEFL and IELTS. In most of the universities, students without knowledge of Finnish language are not admitted because Finnish language is the major teaching language. Universities generally have their own language testing system through which they test the language qualification of international students in Finnish language.

Finnish language is not only important for studies, it is also important to adjust into a Finnish society. When you are Finland, you must deal with people who donít know how to speak languages other than Finnish so itís very important for you to learn Finnish language if you intend to study in Finland. Also, students who know Finnish have higher possibilities of finding jobs in Finland.
