Is IELTS or TOEFL required to do MA in English in USA?

I want to know if the IELTS or TOEFL is required for MA in English in USA.

It depends on the university you choose. Some universities exempt TOEFL for the students who graduated their undergraduate level with Major in English, but other universities look for TOEFL score from any international student, despite of their Major. If you didn't graduate your Bachelor's level with English major, you definitely have to take a TOEFL test. Rate it!
