What are general requirements for international students to study in Holland? What is the process for international students to study at universities in Holland?

These are the general requirements for international students to study in Holland.

Language Requirements
Most of the universities in Holland require minimum of 5.5 score in IELTS.
In general, for undergraduate level students must have 6.0, for postgraduate level students must have 6.5, and for doctorate level student must have 7.0 score in IELTS test.
Students who are native English speaker do not require doing IELTS or TOEFL.
Students with plan to study in Dutch language will have to show their proficiency in Dutch.

Document Requirements
Transcripts of previous educational achievements
Letter of recommendations from your previous instructors for admission

• For Bachelor programmes:
- high school diploma
- list of subjects with grades from your high school
- diploma of your English knowledge (TOEFL or IELTS)
• For Master programmes:
- Bachelor’s degree in the same study field as your Master programme
- list of subjects with grades
- diploma of your English knowledge (TOEFL or IELTS)
• For PhD programmes:
- Master’s degree in the same study field as your research proposal
- list of subjects with grades
- diploma of your English knowledge (TOEFL or IELTS)

Each institution requires additional documents, such as a motivation statement, a curriculum vitae (c.v.), recommendation letter(s), copy of your passport, copy of your birth certificate. Some institutions require GRE and/orGMAT-results, portfolio, etc. depending on the programme you are interested in.
