UK or Canada for Mechanical Engineering
Asked by: rahman007 Answers: 6 Asked 2 years and 2 months ago Question Description
Hi,
I am pursuing my engineering final year in mechanical field. I am in dilemma whether to pursue my master from UK or Canada. Which country among these two is best for Mechanical Engineering? I would be grateful if you could provide me with your valuable suggestions. Waiting for reply! ![]() Answers
Well, it's a very tough question, because the universities in both of the countries have pioneered in the field of engineering in their own ways. Universities from both of these countries have high reputations in the field of engineering and are listed among the world's best engineering schools. USNews, one of the most widely known university rankers, ranks the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London and University of Oxford in UK fourth, sixth and eleventh in the world respectively. While, the University of Toronto, University of British Columbia and University of Waterloo from Canada are ranked eighth, seventeenth and twenty seventh respectively. Even thought the Canadian engineering schools seem to have been ranked low in compare to the schools in UK, my personal preference will go to Canada, but it's just me. I would prefer Canada better because of comparatively low tuition fees to international students, low living expenses and easy exposure to a larger job market of the United States. If I were you, I would instead think of going to the United States instead of both of these countries, because the US has best quality and more opportunities than any other countries in the world. Good luck! Rate it!

![]() I would suggest that this is not a easy decision. There are lot of parameters on the basis of which one should select a destination and then universities. rankings always to not reveal a true picture. it should beb based on a student's individual plan and future goals.
