Does Australian Government give financial help to students?

I have completed my 10+2 in medical. Then I underwent for the training of medical lab technician at Kerala. It was 2 yrs diploma course. I got first division in 1999. Right now I have 7 yrs experience of working as a lab technician but the opportunities in India are very low & my income is not so good. I want to go Australia but financially I am not so good. Please advice me is there any I can go to Australia?

Australian government provides financial support to international students but it is quite difficult to get this support. There are several scholarship programs sponsored by Australian government. The process to apply for different scholarship program may be different. Since, the competition is keen; the chance of getting these scholarships is very low. However, if you are outstanding, you may get these scholarships.
