I am not financially strong enough to support my education in UK. I want to work in UK. What will be the average wage per hour for international student in UK?

International students are recruited generally for part-time jobs in UK. The part time jobs are amongst the minimum paid jobs in UK. UK government has stipulated the minimum wage for all the workers in the UK. According to latest updates made in October 2010, the minimum wage for workers aged 21 years or more is £5.93 per hour and for workers aged 18 to 20 inclusive is £4.92 per hour.

International students are allowed to work up to maximum of 20 hours per week in UK. That means any international student aged 21 year or more will earn up to £474.4 per month and any international student aged 18 to 20 inclusive will earn up to £393.6 per month if they work for a full time.

The minimum wage for people aged 18-20 is currently £4.98 per hour. The minimum wage for people aged 21 and over is currently £6.08.
If you want to work while you study in the UK you will need to apply for a National Insurance (NI) number to be part of the UK tax system. The NI number is a unique number given to everyone in the UK over the age of 16 who works or receives benefits.
