Is passport compulsory to register for IELTS or TOEFL test?

Question Description
I would like to take the IELTS test but unfortunately I donít have a passport; it is expected to come this month on 21st- 24th, that means in a couple of weeks. So could I be able to book the slot in advance without having passport? If itís possible whatís the procedure? Itís all about to catch the September intake. Please suggest me.

A copy of passport isnít compulsorily required to register for IELTS test. You can use any identity document to register, which may be your citizenship card or a driving license. However, passport is compulsory for foreigners who wish to register for IELTS from a nation where they donít belong to.
