Question Description
I want to know the eligibility criteria and admission procedure for doing PhD from Germany.
Answer

IELTS score isn't an issue to do PhD in Germany. Most of the universities in Germany enroll PhD students who have proficiency in German language. It is because, to do PhD in Germany, you must find supervisors who are generally Germans and they do not have proficiency in other languages. During your PhD thesis, you may require your suggestions from your supervisors, you need to discuss about the subject matter with them, and you need to submit the findings of your research to them. If they do not understand English, then your IELTS score or English language proficiency will have no meaning. However, if you will be able to find a Supervisor with proficiency in English, you can do PhD in English. There are also some universities which enroll international students with English language proficiency.

You must have completed Master's degree in the same field in which you want to obtain your PhD. Other requirements depend on subject in which you want to do PhD and university you join. It will be better to contact the concerned department of respective university for detail information about requirements.
