Question Description
I am applying as a Skilled Worker (College Teacher) for Canadian Immigration. I have to take IELTS test for it, but Iím not sure how much IELTS band scores do I need to have to apply. Please tell me in detail about the language requirements for Canadian Skilled Worker Immigration.
Answer

To gain any point in Canadian Skilled Worker Immigration language ability, you must have at least 4 band score in IELTS. You must actually be proficient in English and French, which will give you total of 24 points - 16 from the language of first choice and 8 from the language of second choice. You can choose between English and French as your language of first and second choice.

Here are the IELTS band scores and corresponding points they give:

7.0-9.0 => 4
5.0-6.9 => 2
4.0-4.9 => 1
below 4.0 => 0

These points apply to all the sections Ė reading, writing, listening, and speaking. If you have scores ranging from 7.0-9.0 in all four sections, youíll have (4X4=) 16 points for English.

I hope it helps.
