Question Description
Will I have to show total funds required for my stay in United States? I will probably be staying for about four years in United States. Do I need to show the complete fund required for me in these four years? Please suggest me.
Answer

There is not stipulated any clear cut amount to be shown as bank balance. However, the prevailing trend shows that consular like to see funds enough to complete one year study and living cost in studentís desired academic institution. For example: If anyone is trying to study Computer Engineering in Stanford University, then the tuition fee for graduate engineering student per year is about $12,800 and average living cost per year for international student is around $15,000. This means the least total cost required to study and live in Stanford is $27,800. In this case, the consular would like to see the funds of at least $27,800 as the bank balance.
