What are general requirments to obtain student visa for Japan? What documents will I need to get Japanese student visa to study in Japan?
Answer

To apply for a Japanese student visa, I will have to apply in person in a Japanese Embassy or in Japanese Consulate’s office.

Documents you will require to apply for student visa are:
A valid passport
Two filled official visa application forms
Recently taken 45X45mm photograph
Proof of enrollment in Japanese institution in which you intend to study
Proof of enough funds to show an applicant is capable of paying all the expenses in Japan
Documents certifying the sponsor have enough income to sponsor an applicant

These are the general documents required for obtaining a student visa. There may be other requirements depending upon your country of residence. You may contact the Japanese Embassy or nearest Japanese consulate’s office to enquire about detail procedure and requirements to obtain Japanese student visa in your region.
