What is the process to obtain French visa in United States? I want to study French language in France. Will have to obtain French visa for short duration courses? Guide me through the process to apply and obtain visa for France in United States.
Being a US citizen, you donít need to obtain French visa if youíre going to stay for less than 90 days in France. This is usually suitable for short duration courses which include some language courses too. However while you go to France donít forget to take your passport with you.
If your stay is going to be for more than 90 days, youíll have to obtain French visa. To obtain French study visa you may apply in any of the French consulateís offices in US. The documents you require to apply for French student visa may vary depending upon the consulateís office you apply in.
Requirement for French student visa for US students are:
Completely filled and signed visa application form
Payment by credit card if you apply by mail. You can pay by cash if you apply for visa in person.
Transcripts of previous studies in USA
Financial guarantee to pay university and living charges
Medical insurance certificate
These documents are to be submitted in US consulateís office to apply for student visa. There are French consulate offices in:
