Question Description
My brother is applying for Canadian student visa from India. Since I am a Canadian citizen living in Canada, will he have to declare in his application about his brother living in Canada?

Does this show a negative point on his application? Because, as he has family in Canada, he has less chance to return after completing his education.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks.
Answer

It is always better not to show close relative who is permanently residing in Canada if student isnít being sponsored by a relative who is in Canada. If thereís a relative settled in Canada, the student will have higher possibility of not returning back after studies. This may cause in visa rejection with ties reason. However, if your brother can show strong ties by other means and apply for a visa with your legal status in Canada, his possibility of obtaining a visa will increase.

I suggest: your brother mustnít including information regarding you if he cannot show other strong ties or isnít going to be sponsored by you.
