Question Description
How much does it cost to apply for J1 visa? Is there any problem in showing my own bank account?
Answers

The current visa application fee for J-1 visa is $131. Additional fee of $100 may be required for SEVIS.

About using your own bank balance, there isnít any problem if you have sufficient funds in your own bank account. You can show the bank a balance certificate which states you have enough funds to pay for living and studying in USA. This bank balance certificate can either be your own or of your sponsor. A fund above $20,000 is generally considered sufficient for J-1 visa but you may show even more to secure your financial position while applying for a visa.

I have found the current cost for J1 Visa in this page. Most probably, it is the latest fee.
