What is the visa application fee of UK in India for Indian students? Where should I pay visa application fee of UK in India? How much will it cost in total to get UK's student visa? I heard that it costs a lot during visa application process of UK. Is it real?
The UK student visa application fee for the Indian students is currently Indian Rupees (INR) 14,950. This fee is in effect from August 4, 2010.
There are three payment options to pay your student visa application fee.
The first option is a service charge free option. Under this option, you will need to visit the nearest branch of Standard Chartered Bank to pay your visa application fee. No charge is associated with this type of payment.
The second option is paying through demand draft. Under this option, you can pay the visa application fee by submitting demand draft issued by a nationalized or foreign bank in the visa application centers. If you are submitting your visa application in Northern or Eastern India, the demand draft should be payable to the British High Commission in New Delhi. If you are submitting your visa application in Western part of India, then the demand draft should be payable to the British High Commission in Mumbai. And, if you are submitting your visa application in southern part of India, then the demand draft should be payable to the British High Commission in Chennai. The demand draft issuing banks will charge some service fee for issuing the demand draft. The service fee may vary at different banks.
The third option is paying at the visa application center. The visa application fee of UK can be paid directly at the visa application centers while submitting your visa applications. The service charge of Rs 200 will apply for this service.
